Tambaram records 67 dengue cases in first 21 days of September, report says

Tambaram’s dengue-control efforts have come under scrutiny after the corporation recorded 67 dengue cases in the first 21 days of September, according to The New Indian Express.

The report said 198 dengue cases had been recorded within Tambaram Corporation limits between January 1 and September 21, with 67 of those cases occurring in September through the 21st.

Councillors and residents raised concerns about garbage, sewage and stagnant water in some locations. The report also said corporation teams had carried out inspections across the five zones and that fines totalling ₹1.3 lakh were imposed after mosquito-breeding sources were identified.

Residents should follow official public-health advice and report stagnant water or mosquito-breeding locations to the appropriate civic authorities. The case figures above are from the cited report and are time-specific.
